A Home Sleep Apnea Test is used to diagnose obstructive sleep apnea. A Home Sleep Apnea Test (HSAT) is ordered by your physician if your doctor suspects that you may have sleep apnea. The Home Sleep Apnea Test is portable and easy to use.
What does the device measure?
Your airflow is monitored using a nasal cannula similar to those used to deliver oxygen.
Respiratory effort is monitored using an elastic band around your chest to detect chest excursion while you breath.
Oxygen levels in the blood and pulse rate are monitored using an oximeter finger probe.
You are not restricted in movement during this testing procedure.
